Many men I loved
Many men loved me
but why oh why, Ferlinghetti
under the Cypress tree?
Why not where the cedars grow
why not on a mountain slope
and in the garden of delight
accompanied with party dope
Or on a shelf, by the sea
where nobody can listen
to the sounds of him and me
or steal or change the vision
Many men I loved
many men loved me
so let me gather in
the fair epiphany
Before is always after
and after is before
and some men do the plunge
an action I adore
Some stay for ever on the fringe
of this & that to do
then very much belated
try the steps of kangaroo
And when they are belated
there´s nothing love can do
it´s time and chance and courage
they should have broken through
Sweet Kierkegaard did tell
to consider choices well
and then to jump with vigour
be it heaven, be it hell
